“Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.”
Marianne Williamson
I have been encouraging entrepreneurs to think BIG this week. And I’m not talking about just a little bigger, I am talking Think HUGE. Yes, it’s scary. Yes, if it comes true, your life with change. But you know what, life changes all the time. If you can take control of your life and truly make an impact on the world.
So if you are having trouble really thinking big, here are some ideas on how to get started thinking bigger:
1. Let go of your preconceived ideas of what you can do or who you can be. Throughout your life, you have been told “No.” You’ve been disappointed. You’ve seen others around you fail. Starting right now, none of it matters. YOU can do anything or be anyone you decide to be.
2. Read and research more. Do more online searches. Really look at what is going on in the world and allow yourself to imagine how you can be involved in the new world that is taking shape.
3. Ask others about your ideas and ask them how they would make it bigger. You’ll be amazed at what others will say that will spark on idea or two in you.
4. Think long-term. Don’t just imagine what you can do immediately. Think about how much you can do in the next five years, ten years, even twenty years. When you take your eye off your current path and look at the future horizon, you’ll find you are able to think much bigger.
5. Admit your fear. Acknowledge it. Find out what is really holding you back and decide to act anyway.
6. Write down your BIG vision and review it often. Any time you feel yourself pulling back or compromising, pull out that BIG vision and read it over and over again. Get back into the emotions of excitement and wonder and re-commit to thinking and acting big.
7. Ask the Universe for the support you need. And don’t be surprised when it responds. God has your back and you will find a way to get what you need.
Think BIG. You deserve it.
This is such amazing advice. Absolutely loved it.
Thank you! There’s no reason to think small. The world will allow you to grow as large as you want to.
